Brass Lions - Forbidden city, Beijing

A pair of lions guard the entrance to one of the buildings in the Forbidden city of Beijing, China. The two statues are almost identical except for under their feet. the lion nearest the camera has a baby lion cub under it's left paw. The further away lion has a ball under it's right paw. This style of lion with cub and ball is common on buildings throughout China.
